Scope of Work information for the Electronic Technician (06 license) and
Telecommunications Technician Labor Categories
It has been brought to our attention that some confusion may exist regarding
the scope of work of the
Electronic Technician
(06 license) and the
Telecommunications Technician
labor categories. The Contracts now in place allow for new services to be
added, but do not allow for the addition of entirely new labor categories if
there are no new services connected with them that could not already be
performed by the existing labor categories. The labor categories contained in
the template of the RFP Labor Schedule were carefully chosen and can provide
all the services needed under the contract. Therefore, for clarification, the
following links are provided to Sections of the Revised Code of Washington
(RCW) and the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) where the scopes of work of
the two labor categories above are described.
First, please refer to RCW Section
19.28.400 (“Definitions”) subsection 7 (“Telecommunications Scope of
Work”), subsection 13 (“Telecommunications Systems”), and subsection 14
(“Telecommunications Worker”).
Next, please refer to WAC Section
296-46B-920 (“Electrical/Telecommunications license/certificate types
and scope of work”):
-
Electronic Technician (06) Scope of Work –
Subsection (2) (e) (“Limited Energy System (06)”)
-
Telecommunications Technician Scope of Work –
Subsection (2) (m) (“Telecommunications (09)”)
See also WAC Section
296-127-01322 (“Electronic technicians”) and WAC Section
296-127-01378 (“Telecommunication technicians”).
