Shared Exchange Services
Designed for small- to medium-sized agencies with fewer than 100 e-mail user
IDs, Shared Exchange Services (SSV) integrates all
the benefits of Enterprise Active Directory — shared technology resources,
single sign-on and fortified network security — with online connection to the
Global Address List in Microsoft Exchange
SSV delivers managed infrastructure for small- and medium-sized agencies. There
are no duplicate technologies to purchase and no additional charge for
membership in the state's
Enterprise Active Directory. Join SSV and you join a larger community
of small agencies that distributes the cost of expensive technology among many
and shares network resources. SSV delivers lower IT costs and you maintain the
autonomy of your agency's local computing environment.
DIS monitors, manages and backs up DNS (Domain Name System) services, directory
replication and SSV domain controllers in a high-availability environment. And,
with our Microsoft Exchange e-mail server, Shared Exchange
Services opens up the organizational resources and communication channels
available on the Global Address List.
High-performance customer support is just one of many benefits we deliver with
SSV:
-
system design, administration and operation
-
acquisition, installation, maintenance and upgrade of DIS data center hardware
and software
-
capacity planning
-
performance monitoring
-
tuning and load balancing
-
migration planning
-
backup and restore operations
-
trouble shooting and problem resolution
-
system documentation and reporting
-
Exchange client access licenses
-
virus scanning of all attachments in mail
-
and more
The technology
User accounts begin with 100MB of online storage for mailbox
messages and calendar data. You can purchase additional storage for larger
mailboxes in 10MB increments.
The Exchange servers for Shared Exchange
Services customers are located in the DIS data center. They are connected to
the DIS IP backbone behind the firewall, with a connection to the DIS Exchange
Hub.
We do not provide hot-site disaster recovery.
DIS supports TCP/IP for accessing the Exchange servers; we do
not support other network protocols.
We do not migrate user mailbox and calendar data to and from
other e-mail systems.
We will respond to four tech support incidents each month free
of charge.
