Electronic Mail Services - Shared Exchange Services




Service Description

Shared Exchange Services is designed for small to medium agencies with fewer than 100 email users. Shared Exchange packages all the benefits of the Enterprise Active Directory — shared technology resources, online connection to the Global Address List, and single sign-on including fortified network security – with the email and calendaring services of Microsoft Exchange.

Join the Shared Exchange Service and you join a larger community of small agencies that distribute the cost of technology among many participants by sharing network resources. Shared Exchange delivers lower IT costs, and you maintain the autonomy of your agency's local computing environment.

  • Backup and restore operations
  • Trouble shooting and problem resolution
  • System documentation and reporting
  • Exchange client access licenses
  • Virus scanning of all attachments in mail
  • 100MB of online storage for mailbox messages and calendar data per user – additional storage can be purchased in 10MB increments

To obtain services from DIS, eligible organizations must enter into a Customer Service Agreement (CSA).

How Do We Charge?


Monthly service charges for Dedicated Exchange Services, Shared Exchange Services, and Shared-Dedicated Exchange Services are based on a mutually negotiated Service Level Agreement (SLA) in order to meet the customer’s business needs.
