Electronic Mail Services - Shared-Dedicated Exchange Services




Service Description

Shared-Dedicated Exchange Services are designed for small to medium agencies with between 100 and 500 email users. Shared-Dedicated Exchange integrates the cost benefits of shared technology resources, and fortified network security, with online connection to the Global Address List in Microsoft Exchange.

The ‘dedicated’ portion of the service allows the agency the freedom to: manage and administer their own users, groups, and computers; have separate backup and restore operations; have a separate Exchange storage group, 300MB mailbox limits per user; and share the server with no more than 3 other similar agencies.

Shared-Dedicated Exchange servers deliver a reliability rate of 99.9 percent.

Customer Responsibilities:

New Customers
To obtain services from DIS, eligible organizations must enter into a Customer Service Agreement (CSA).

Complete the Application for Shared-Dedicated Exchange Services and and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov.

Current customers

We can respond faster if your customer information is up-to-date. Complete the Contact Update Form and submit it to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov.

To request an Update to an existing account, download and complete the Shared Dedicated Exchange Services User Account Update form and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov.

How Do We Charge?


Monthly service charges for Dedicated Exchange Services, Shared Exchange Services, and Shared-Dedicated Exchange Services are based on a mutually negotiated Service Level Agreement (SLA) in order to meet the customer’s business needs.
