LISTSERV®

Washington state's award winning Web portal, Access Washington, brings citizens and businesses a user-friendly "anytime, anyplace" avenue for online communication and service transactions with state government. To further enhance the quality of those services, the state of Washington provides LISTSERV®, an e-mail list distribution service. Now, in addition to visiting Access Washington, citizens can ask LISTSERV® to notify them via e-mail about current events in specific areas of government.

With this service, citizens can keep up with the latest developments and news from government agencies and participate in discussion groups for the issues and topics of interest to them. This service also enables state and local government agencies to reach out directly to businesses, organizations and the general public more quickly and efficiently.

    Applying for a List

    If you're a Washington state agency, local government entity or public education institution and interested in setting up a new list, please complete the LISTSERV® Application and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov..

    The following features and benefits are included with the LISTSERV® service:

    Lists are available for use within only four business days of identified technical specifications and a signed agreement

    • List owners can administer lists with an easy-to-use and customizable Web interface
    • Users can be added to lists by list owners or on their own
    • Up to 20 megabytes of archived message storage available
    • Optional listing in list directory on Access Washington
    • 24x7 Service Desk support and access to experienced technicians
    • Service guarantee of 99.9 percent application and server availability
    • Reliable data center monitored operations, 24 hours a day, seven-days-a-week LISTSERV® Rates

    The monthly rates below are based on per list purchase and a LISTSERV® maximum of 2,500 subscribers and 10 megabytes (MB) disk storage.

    16-35 $16.00 per month per list
    36-55 $11.50 per month per list
    56-82 $8.50 per month per list
    83+ $7.00 per month per list

    Lists exceeding 2,500 subscribers will be charged according to the following price chart. These lists will still count towards the number of total lists - affecting the cost of lists under 2,500 subscribers. Mailing lists with more than 100,000 subscribers and/or more than 10 MB of storage disk space will be subject to mutual negotiation.

    2,501 to 10,000 list members $50 per month per list
    10,001 to 25,000 list members $100 per month per list
    25,001 to 50,000 list members $175 per month per list
    50,001 to 100,000 list members $250 per month per list
