Server Backup Services




Service Description

Server Backup Services (SBS) offer a comprehensive software system to backup almost any type of server over the TCP/IP network. SBS can immediately restore a file, all files on a disk, or an entire server.

Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), the software used for SBS, performs backup and restoration, archival and retrieval, storage management, and disaster recovery. TSM supports approximately 39 client platforms, and the following server platforms: HP-UX, IBM AIX, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Sun Solaris and IBM MVS-OS-390.

Customer Responsibilities:


To obtain services from DIS, eligible organizations must enter into a Customer Service Agreement (CSA).

New Customers:

Government entities are invited to complete an Application for Server Backup Services and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov..

Current Customers:

We can respond faster if your customer information is up-to-date. Complete the Contact Update Form and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov.

To request changes to your Server Backup Service, complete the TSM Service Update Form and submit to the DIS Service Desk – servicedesk@dis.wa.gov.
