Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP)
Service Description
DIS installs, operates, and maintains shared Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephone systems that deliver voice telephone service to public organizations at economical rates. Internet phone calls can be sent over the same Local Area Network (LAN) that is used for your computer data needs. DIS supports two different VoIP architectures:
- The Avaya architecture is a hybrid architecture that supports both VoIP phones and digital phones. This architecture allows existing customers to maintain their investment in digital phones while upgrading to VoIP.
- The Cisco Call Manager architecture uses additional gateways to support analog devices like fax machines.
Features:
-
Existing infrastructure may be integrated with the new VoIP system, or a separate IP infrastructure may be provided for voice and data depending on customer requirements.
