for their Windows desktop operating system.
FAQs
Q. What’s changing?
A. Only the date for redeeming TS transition CAL’s is changing. The April 24, 2003
eligibility date has not changed.
Q. Why is Microsoft doing this?
A. Microsoft wants to provide more time to customers who were eligible for TS
Transition CALs on April 24, 2003 but who have not yet taken the advantage of the
TS Transition CAL. As such the extension of the Transition Plan ensures that
customers who have always been eligible will continue to be eligible.
Q. Does this give customers the rights to CALs for future versions of Terminal Services?
A. No, the transition plan gives customers perpetual Windows Server 2003 TS
Transition CALs that can be used for connecting to Windows Server 2003 and Windows
Server 2003 R2 or earlier versions of Windows Server Terminal Services (i.e. Windows
2000 Server Terminal Services).
Q. What public resources exist that I can point customers to?
A. For details on how customers can redeem their TS Transition CALs
please refer to the
Licensing Brief or the transition FAQ.
